10 Cheap Eats in Florence

Since Florence is one of my favorite cities, I spend a lot of time there. And when it's time to eat it's good to know a place where you can eat well and not spend a lot of money.

Some of these are old favorites of mine and some I haven't tried yet.

I would definitely second the suggestion for Il Teatro del Sale. Amazing food and a unique experience. It is great value for the money.

Free Fashion and Art Tours in Florence

YES! The city of Florence has begun offering free fashion/art tours of Florence. It seems the majority of the tours visit a couple of fashion ateliers and a museum or church (full of artworks). Anyone who plans to be in Florence between now and June 21, 2010 should check out this website and make a reservation for one or more of the tours.

If you are lucky enough to be going to Florence this year, the Florence Tourist Board has a promotion going for U.S. travelers. With the dollars/euro exchange rate the way it is these days, we need all the help we can get.
